SC twins going to prison after pleading guilty to identical crime, official says
Identical twins from Columbia, South Carolina, are going to prison after pleading guilty to the same drug charge, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.
Quincey Oneil Jackson and Quinton Oneil Jackson, both 41, each pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a news release.
U.S. District Judge Sherri Lydon sentenced both brothers to more than 15 years (188 months) in federal prison, according to the release. There was no word if the twin brothers will serve their sentences in the same prison, but both will be expected to complete the full term because there is no parole in the federal system.
Each of the brothers’ sentences will be followed by a term of court-ordered supervision, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Evidence presented to the court showed that from 2020 through July 2024, the brothers engaged in a large-scale drug trafficking operation to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl, according to the release. On April 12, 2024, agents executed a search warrant at the home that the Jackson brothers shared and seized meth, fentanyl, marijuana and a firearm, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
The case was investigated by the DEA, the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, the Columbia Police Department and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Major led the prosecution for the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Information about the brother’s attorneys was not available, but records show that Quinton Jackson was represented by Overture Walker and Quincey Jackson’s lawyer was Suha Najjar in a recent federal case where the twins were listed as defendants.
