A woman was arrested after investigators determined she shared child sexual abuse material online, according to the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.

Brittany Nicole Marie Tomberlin, 30, of Gaston was charged Tuesday with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree after investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department received a report from the CyberTipline, according to a news release.

The department’s internet crimes against children task force, along with investigators from the Attorney General’s Office, discovered that Tomberlin had distributed files of child sexual abuse material online, the release said.

Tomberlin was granted a $10,000 bond after being booked at the Lexington County Detention Center, and faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Her case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office, the release said.
