A search is underway for armed men after multiple shots were fired into a vehicle near a Clemson University extension office in Winnsboro.

The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office is searching for three males who are believed to have been involved in the shooting and were last seen armed.

They allegedly shot into a vehicle multiple times, and then fled on foot when Fairfield County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop the vehicle they were in.

The Sheriff’s office has K9 units currently searching the area, and has locked down multiple county facilities, as well as the JB Floyd Building, which houses the Clemson University Fairfield County extension office. The Sheriff’s office identified the JB Floyd building as the site of the incident.

The Sheriff’s Office did not say whether the shooting led to any injuries.

This is a developing story.
