UPDATED: Lexington coroner identifies man killed in I-20 crash

The man killed in a fiery I-20 crash Saturday evening is Jermain L. Watkins, 39, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

Watkins of Sumter, was driving a 2009 Toyota and died after running off the road on Interstate 20 and hitting a tree, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Watkins was traveling east near mile marker 58, and the incident took place at about 6:55 p.m., according to troopers.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, from the injuries he sustained in the accident, according to the coroner. An autopsy will be performed on Tuesday to determine the cause of death.
