The Columbia Police Department is asking for the community’s help in locating a person of interest regarding a recent shooting death.

Willette Wilson is wanted and is a person of interest in the July 28 death of Timothy Peter Gentry, Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said Sunday. Wilson’s previous address was 204 Richcreek Road in Columbia and she has been seen in the Monticello Road and Lakeside Drive area.

The 32-year-old Gentry died from a gunshot wound to the upper body following a shooting on the 1200 block of Beaufort Street near River Drive, said the Columbia Police Department. Gentry was found lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound to the upper body and taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, Holbrook said.

Anyone with information about Wilson is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
