SC deputies uncovers cache of drugs & guns in response to noise complaint
Two men were arrested after deputies spotted several firearms and a cache of drugs in response to a noise complaint near a school, according to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to an apartment on Baugh Street around 7 p.m. on Monday. Upon arriving, they noticed several guns and what appeared to be marijuana inside a vehicle at the residence, according to a news release. Following a search of the car and the apartment, deputies uncovered 280 grams of marijuana and three firearms, including a long gun, with multiple magazines.
Tyshon Jefferson, 24, and Tamir Shivers, 25, were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute near a school. Jefferson was also charged with three counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Deputies say one of the suspects was taken into custody without incident, while another attempted to flee to the backyard after crawling through a hole in the ceiling of the apartment.
Jefferson and Shivers were transported to the Orangeburg County Detention Center and were given a bond of $27,190 and $21,190 on all charges, respectively.
