Motel drug bust lands South Carolina man in jail, sheriff says
A South Carolina man is in jail after a recent drug bust at a motel, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Theodore Alexander Hardy, a 39-year-old Sumter resident, was arrested Dec. 12, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday in a news release.
Members of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division searched Broad Street motel room, where they discovered a cache of drugs and a gun, according to the release.
Hardy was taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where he was charged with trafficking in fentanyl (14 grams or more, but less than 28 grams), trafficking methamphetamine or cocaine base (100 grams or more but less than 200 grams), manufacturing or possession of a Schedule I, II or III controlled substance (or flunitrazepam or an analogue, with intent to distribute), possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, misdemeanor possession of narcotic drugs in Schedule I (B) and (C), LSD, and Schedule II substances and three counts of possession of other controlled substances in Sched. I-V, the sheriff’s office said.
Hardy was denied bond and remains in locked up while awaiting a trial, according to the release.
