A Florence woman was arrested for insurance fraud, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

Effie Mae Willing, 56, was charged Thursday with presenting a false claim for insurance payment, value $10,000 or more, after reporting to her insurance company that three of her vehicles were stolen, according to an arrest warrant.

On May 19, Willing called Progressive, on a recorded line, and said that her camper and two all terrain vehicles were stolen, the warrant said.

Witnesses told investigators that Willing knew where the vehicles were located and that they were never stolen, according to the warrant.

During another recorded call with Progressive, Willing admitted she lied about the stolen vehicle claims, the warrant said.

Willing was booked into the Florence County Detention Center.
