Three arrested after helping juveniles escape SCDJJ alternative facility
Three women, responsible for supervising juveniles at a South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice alternative facility, were arrested after allegedly helping teens escape.
Jasmine Gault, 22, of Pacolet, Erykah Gray, 22, of Union and Niiquaysha Norman, 23, of Jonesville were each charged with aiding escapes from prison after they reportedly helped two juveniles leave the White Pines facility and evade law enforcement on Nov. 22, 2025 in Union County, according to a news release.
White Pines is classified as an alternative, and less restrictive, facility for juveniles in custody of the state department of juvenile justice.
Gault, Gray and Norman where all employed by AMIKids — a nonprofit organization that supports at-risk youth — at the time of the incident.
The department does not hire or train AMIKids employees, a news release said.
Upon learning of the incident, the department removed all juveniles, under its care, from White Pines, which was a contracted facility.
Gault, Gray and Norman were all booked into the Union County Detention Center and terminated from AMIKids, according to the release.
