Two women were hospitalized following a Friday night shooting in Newberry, according to police.

Officers with the Newberry Police Department responded to a residence, located at 1310 Jefferson Street, in reference to a shooting at around 11:28 p.m., according to a news release. One of the victims was airlifted while the other was taken by ambulance.

The condition of the women was not available.

Police later located suspect Zah’Kee Yahmir Clark, 22, of Chapin, using a tracking team, the release said. Clark had allegedly fled the scene of the shooting on foot and was found a few blocks away, according to the release.

“This investigation is still ongoing, and more arrests may be coming,” Goodman said in the release. “We’re asking anyone with information in this shooting to call Sgt. Khadijah Gaskins with the Newberry Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 803-321-1010.”
