3 people charged with murder in targeted attack along I-20, Richland sheriff says
Three people were charged with murder for the shooting death of a man in along Interstate 20, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department said.
Cedric Hollomon, 32, D’andre Burris, 28, and Gequanta Clea, 26, were taken into custody by the sheriff’s department’s fugitive task force and transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
The sheriff’s department said the three suspects knew the victim, James W. Smith III, of Bishopville, who was found shot to death in a one-vehicle crash Monday morning along eastbound I-20 between Alpine Road and Clemson Road.
The sheriff’s office said it was a targeted attack.
Hollomon was arrested in Florence County and Burris was arrested in Lee County on Wednesday. Clea was taken into custody on Thursday in Lee County.
They are awaiting bond hearings, the sheriff’s office said.
