Two teenagers were arrested after a shooting in South Carolina on Sunday, according to the West Columbia Police Department.

At about 5:30 p.m., police said officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2400 block of Augusta Road, police said. That’s a Walmart Supercenter near Exit 111 on I-26 in the West Columbia area of Lexington County.

Immediately following the shooting, police asked community members to avoid the area.

On Monday morning, police said 19-year-old Jaeden Jones and 18-year-old Ty’ron Bethea were arrested on charges related to the shooting.

Jones was charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, criminal conspiracy and possession of marijuana, police said in Monday’s news release.

Bethea was charged with possession of marijuana, according to the release.

Information about where and when Jones and Bethea were taken into custody was not available.

Police told The State that the shooting was not fatal, and no injuries were reported.

Information about any other shooters, and how many people were involved in the incident, was not available. There was no word on a motive for the gunfire.

No bond has been set for Jones or Bethea, who are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center, jail records show.
