Dog fight interrupted by law enforcement lands 2 men in jail, SLED says
Two men were charged with ill-treatment of animals after agents disrupted a dog fight, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Jordan Joez Price, 25, was charged with two counts of ill-treatment of animals, criminal conspiracy and presence at facility of animal fighting or baiting (first offense) on March 19, following a dog fight in a wooded area McCords Ferry Road in Eastover, according to a news release.
Jamarcus Lee Culp, 31, was also charged with two counts of ill-treatment of animals, criminal conspiracy, and presence at facility of animal fighting or baiting (first offense).
The charges stem from an incident on April 20, 2024, where SLED agents disturbed a dog fight in progress, where Price and Culp were present, according to an arrest warrant.
Agents located Price at the scene of the dog fight, and was found with a gun and a wad of cash at the scene.
Culp truck’s was found at the dog fight, and a witness confirmed his presence, the warrant said.
As agents approached the dog fight, a black and tan dog continued fighting before they were forcibly separated by agents, according to the warrant.
The dogs have been fighting for ten minutes before agent arrived, the warrant said.
Both Price and Culp were booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
