Richland County deputy fired and arrested on assault charge, sheriff says
A Richland County sheriff’s deputy was fired and arrested after being accused of assault, according to the department.
Tiffany Anderson, 45, was charged with simple assault following an incident on March 23, when deputies responded to a residence on Laurel Bluff Court in reference to an assault. An investigation found that Anderson had struck the victim multiple times after the two quarreled, causing injuries, according to a news release.
“Her actions are inexcusable,” Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said in the release. “It makes me angry to see someone who is entrusted with enforcing the law break it.”
Anderson, who had been with the department since July 2024, was fired and arrested Friday before she was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
