A Columbia man was arrested for attempting to pass stolen scratch-off tickets for a payout, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

Omarion Xavier Elmore, 20, was charged with intent to defraud with counterfeit game tickets on March 13, 2026, according to a news release.

An investigation revealed that around the same day Elmore stole multiple scratch-off tickets — Feb. 26 — from Murphy Express, located at 2350 Broad River Road, the 20-year-old tried to cash in the tickets at Right Way Market, an arrest warrant said.

Evidence against Elmore was corroborated by video surveillance, the warrant said.

He was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
