Shooting at nightclub leaves one person dead, two more injured, SC cops say

One person was killed in an early Sunday morning shooting at a nightclub in South Carolina that left two others injured, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened at the PreGame Lounge in Spartanburg, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

At about 2 a.m., deputies responded to reports of a mass shooting at the nightclub/bar at 106 South Blackstock Road, according to the release. That’s near Exit 21 on I-26.

At the bar, deputies discovered that “a large-scale shooting had occurred,” the sheriff’s office said.

Three people were injured in the shooting, and one of them died, according to the release.

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the shooting victim who died.

The sheriff’s office said that a second victim was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where they were listed in critical condition Sunday morning.

A third victim suffered what the sheriff’s office called “minor injuries,” and is expected to recover, according to the release.

There was no word if the victims were the intended targets of the shooter, or shooters.

Information about the shooter, or shooters, and if any more people were involved or firing weapons, was not available. There was no word about a motive for the gunfire in the shooting that the sheriff’s office called an isolated incident.

“There is no known ongoing threat to the community,” the sheriff’s office said.

No arrests have been reported in the shooting that continues to be investigated by the sheriff’s office.
