A traffic collision involving three cars has blocked traffic in both directions on a busy roadway, according to the Columbia Police Department.

The crash occurred Tuesday afternoon on North Beltline Boulevard between Craig and Pruitt streets, the department said in a social media post.

Although one vehicle overturned, so far no serious injuries have been reported, according to the department.

As of Tuesday around 3 p.m., both directions on the roadway remained closed as officers are waiting for tow trucks to clear the vehicles from the roadway, the department said.

As such, motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
