Two separate shootings under investigation in Columbia. No injuries reported

Two Tuesday night shootings are under active investigation from the Columbia Police Department.

No injuries were reported at either incident.

Fairfield Road incident

Columbia police officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification in the Fairfield Road area.

A juvenile produced a weapon during a physical altercation and shot at a victim. The juvenile was suspected of stealing property from a vehicle on Spaulding Avenue and was confronted by the victim on Fairfield Road.

During a struggle the firearm discharged and no property or individuals were struck, according to a news release.

1810 Germany Street incident

Also, Tuesday officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification in the 1800 block of Germany Street.

According to juveniles present at the scene, they had been involved in a prior altercation at T.S. Martin Park and were leaving the area when a vehicle allegedly drove by and discharged a firearm, according to the release.

One shell casing was recovered at the scene. No victims were located.
