Fatal collision involving bicyclist under investigation in Orangeburg County
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported a fatal crash in Orangeburg involving a bicyclist. The crash happened about midnight on Friday.
The bicyclist was hit while traveling north in the southbound lane on Cannon Bridge Road. A 2001 Honda sedan was traveling south on the same road, near Riley Road, according to a news release.
The Honda sedan collided with the bicyclist, who sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Honda sedan was uninjured.
It is unclear whether the collision was an accident. The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
