A Sumter man was arrested after killing his brother during a domestic dispute, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Randy Lowery was charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a stolen gun after deputies responded to a residence on Benenhaley Road Tuesday night and found Lowery’s brother —Markus Antonio Burroughs, 40 — with a gunshot wound, according to a news release.

EMS attempted to render aid to Burroughs. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lowery was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center, where he awaits a bond hearing, the release said.
