Armed & dangerous man sought by Columbia police after deadly shooting in SC
A search is underway in South Carolina for an armed & dangerous man wanted for murder following a shooting, according to the Columbia Police Department.
Destin Barr, 21, is wanted for his role in a deadly shooting, police said Tuesday night.
The shooting happened June 8 at Siegel Select Extended Stay Living, at 150 Stoneridge Drive, police previously said. That’s near the Greystone Boulevard Exit on I-126.
Responding officers found a man — later identified as 26-year-old Justin Brown — who had been shot in the upper body, according to police. Brown was taken by EMS to an area hospital and died, police said.
There was no word about a motive for the shooting, or if Barr and Brown knew each other prior to the gunfire.
Information about how police connected Barr to the shooting was not available, but he’s facing murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime charges, according to police.
