Wounded man pulls into Food Lion parking lot after shooting, Richland sheriff says

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting on Wednesday that left a man wounded in his lower body.

Deputies were called at 9 p.m. about a shooting. The man was in a vehicle on the way to hospital but pulled over into the Food Lion parking lot on Broad River Road, officials said.

The man had a gunshot wound to his lower body and deputies gave aid until EMS arrived to transport the man to a hospital, the sheriff’s office said.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Richland County Sheriff’s Department at 803-576-3000 or submit an anonymous tip through CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
