One dead after fatal head-on collision in Calhoun County, SC Highway Patrol says

A head on two-vehicle collision Thursday in Calhoun County along Old Sandy Road left one person dead, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

At 5:10 p.m. Thursday, a 2019 Kia going north on Old Sandy Run Road drove to the left and struck a 2009 Hyundai going south on the road near Old State Road, the highway patrol said.

The driver of the Hyundai was transported to a hospital and later died. The driver of the Kia was not injured, the highway patrol said.

The collision is still under investigation.
