2 face charges in weekend Richland County shooting that left 2 dead
Two people are in custody and facing charges following a weekend shooting that killed two others in Richland County.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department announced Monday that Tyler White, 21, and an unidentified 15-year-old boy will face charges in the shooting at the Greenbrier Apartments on Saturday night.
Both White and the teenager will be charged with two counts of murder and one count of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, Sheriff Leon Lott said in a media release.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the apartments around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, where they found Quentin M. Wilson, 21, of Hopkins, and Toni M. Moseley, 20, of Columbia, dead at the scene from gunshot wounds. A third person was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries, the sheriff’s department said.
That same evening, law enforcement was alerted when White arrived at an area hospital for treatment for his own gunshot wound. Deputies investigated and determined that White and an accomplice had entered the apartment at the Greenbriar and shot both victims multiple times, the news release says.
The shooting occurred Saturday at 100 Willow Oak Drive northeast of Columbia, just north of Interstate 20 off of Parklane Road.
White was detained and the hospital and will be transferred to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center once he is released, the sheriff’s department said. On Sunday, deputies located the 15-year-old in Rock Hill, where the suspect was visibly limping and was found to also have a gunshot injury, the sheriff’s department said. He was treated and released at a Columbia hospital before being arrested and turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department asked anyone who might have information about the case to call Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
