Richland County man charged for attempted murder in shooting a man twice

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a man for a shooting that left a man wounded.

On May 24 around 8 p.m., deputies was called to Harlem Street for a man who had been shot twice on Palmland Drive, which is located in a Lower Richland neighborhood. Officials said he suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body and one to the lower body.

Justin Long, 37, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to a news release.

Long was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. He was denied bond.

The sheriff’s department is continuing to investigate.
