A Florence County man is facing three separate insurance fraud charges across three counties, according to a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division news release.

Cornelius Travis Jones, a 46-year-old Lake City resident, was initially arrested and booked into Florence County Detention Center on July 16 after being charged with presenting a false insurance claim with a value of more than $2,000 but less than $10,000, the Friday release said.

Later that day, Jones was charged with two additional counts of insurance fraud in Darlington County, one matching his Florence charge and another for a false claim of $2,000 or less. According to the release, Jones was then booked into the Darlington County Detention Center.

The South Carolina Department of Insurance requested SLED conduct the investigation, the release said.

The Department of Insurance will prosecute the case.
