Richland County deputies investigate apartment complex shooting

Richland County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning that left one wounded, according to officials.

Sgt. Kevin Lawrence, a department spokesman, said deputies were dispatched to The Haven at Windsor Lake apartment complex located in the 1400 block of Oakcrest Drive near Two Notch Road in reference to a shots-fired call. When deputies arrived, they located a victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Lawrence said the victim was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in serious condition.

Investigators currently do not have a suspect description or motive for the shooting, Lawrence said.
