Man charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor by Sumter County Sheriff
A Rembert man was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor Monday by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Walter David Richbow, 25, turned himself in after receiving reports he had sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl over the weekend, said Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Braden Bunch. He said Richbow is accused of sexually assaulting the victim in the back of his car early Saturday morning. Bunch said the alleged incident took place in a wooded area in northern Sumter County.
According to Bunch, Richbow is being held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center, where he will await a bond hearing.
