Richland County deputies searching for forgery suspect

Richland County investigators are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted for forgery.

Sheriff Leon Lott said on March 16, 33-year-old Misti Chiresa McDuffie allegedly wrote two checks at the Publix Super Market on Rosewood Drive, one for $82.18 and another for $48.54, which were stolen from a victim.

Lott said the victim’s account has been closed, and investigators are currently working to determine how McDuffie was able to steal the checks from the victim.

Lott said McDuffie is described as a black female, standing 5-foot 3-inches tall and weighs about 250 pounds. Mcduffie has a dark complexion and long black hair.
