Richland County deputies searching for two credit card fraud suspects

Richland County investigators are requesting the public’s assistance in locating two suspects for credit card theft and fraud.

Sheriff Leon Lott said a victim was grocery shopping at the Publix located in the 10000 block of Two Notch Road on Saturday at 8 p.m. when she was approached by a stranger who started a friendly conversation with her. That was when another suspect stole the victim’s wallet from her purse.

Lott said investigators tracked the cards that were stolen when they were used to purchase a $756 Cannon digital camera and three gift cards valued at $100 each at the Best Buy on Two notch Road. The suspects then used the cards to purchase three gift cards valued at $160 each at the Target on Two Notch Road.

The suspects are described as a white male, standing 5-foot 10-inches tall and wearing a white long sleeve shirt and blue jeans with a white baseball hat. The second suspect is described as a white female, standing 5-foot 4-inches tall and wearing a white sleeveless shirt and blue jeans.
