Columbia police investigate drive-by shooting on Millwood Avenue

Columbia police are investigating a drive-by shooting on Millwood Avenue Wednesday afternoon that left one man with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was standing with a group in the driveway of 2715 Millwood Ave. (between Woodrow and Maple Streets) around 3 p.m. when a “car reportedly shot at them,” police department spokeswoman, Jennifer Timmons, said in a tweet.

Authorities are looking for a dark Chevy Tahoe and the shooter described as “possibly a black male with short dreads who was seen in the vehicle,” Timmons said.

The victim suffered what was thought to be a non-life-threatening wound, Timmons said.
