Richland County authorities are looking for a woman who, using a cloned credit card, made a series of purchases totaling $378.02 after 8 p.m. on August 16.

Purchases were made at the Walgreens at 1532 Lake Murray Blvd, Applebees at 2344 Broad River Road and Bojangles at 2423 Broad River Road, sheriff Leon Lott said in a news release.

“The suspect used a device to steal the victim’s debit card information,” Lott said. He urged people to “use caution when swiping your debit card; ensure that the device you are using looks normal and not like an attachment,” which some criminals use to steal credit card and debit card information.

The woman being sought is described as a heavyset black woman with long black hair (possibly a weave) last seen wearing gray tights, white T-shirt, light blue cap with a white emblem on the front and white flip flops.
