West Columbia man charged with murder in shooting death of Gaston man

A West Columbia man is charged with murder in the shooting death of a Gaston man earlier this week.

Christopher Phillip Lambert is accused of shooting and killing Timothy Chavis on Sept. 7, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. The shooting happened Monday in the 100 block of Roundtree Drive in Gaston.

Lambert also faces a charge for possessing a weapon during a violent crime.
