Westminster man charged with operating chop shop
A Westminster man was arrested by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Friday on charges of operating a chop shop.
Verline Dewayne Whitfield, 47, was charged with two counts of removing or falsifying a VIN for two motorcycles and one count of operating a chop shop, according to Oconee Co. Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt.
Watt said that Whitfield was released from the Oconee County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
