3 men sought following Sumter County beating

Authorities are looking for three men after a 20-year-old Sumter man was beaten earlier Tuesday at a residence in Pinewood. A fourth suspect in the assault, Mark James Floyd, 32, of Pinewood was arrested at a traffic stop, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

Still being sought Thursday afternoon were William Ard, 24, Troy Henderson, 19, and Joseph Henderson Jr., 21, all of Sumter. The four suspects and victims are acquaintances. The reason for the assault was still a matter of the investigation, Braden Bunch of the Sheriff’s Department said.

Joseph Henderson is believed to have removed a GPS monitoring device which he was ordered to wear following an earlier altercation, the sheriff’s department said.
