Columbia firefighter suspended following DUI arrest

A member of the Columbia Fire Department was suspended after being arrested for DUI.

A news release from Chief Aubrey D. Jenkins said firefighter Adam R. Beale was placed on investigatory suspension following his Sunday arrest by the Banks County (Ga.) Sheriff’s Office. Jenkins said Beale’s status will be determined by the outcome of the charges against him.

Although Beale has been with the Columbia Fire Department for almost a year, Jenkins said this incident doesn’t “reflect the character, dedication and professionalism of the men and women of the Columbia Fire Department.”
