Richland County Sheriff’s Department investigating shooting

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting that took place on Durango Ave. Monday.

Richland County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Sgt. Kevin Lawrence said a man was shot in the lower body by an unknown suspect. According to Lawrence, the victim would only say the shooting occurred between 1-1:30 p.m. around his house at 5 Durango Ave., near Wilson Boulevard in the Summer Hill Subdivision.

Lawrence said the victim’s wife dropped him off at Providence Northeast Hospital with what was described as non-life threatening injuries.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the incident, but Lawrence said they don’t have a description of the suspect.
