Lexington County deputies searching for suspects who severely beat store owner after robbing him

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department

Lexington County deputies are requesting the public’s assistance in locating two suspects involved in a burglary and assault earlier this month, officials said.

Capt. Adam Myrick, a sheriff’s department spokesman, said on Sept. 8, two suspects entered the Columbia Ice located in the 4200 block of Augusta Road near Cardinal Drive and robbed the business owner.

Myrick said the suspects took some cash and tablet computer and fled from the area on foot, but not before they severely beat the business owner in front of his wife. She, however, was uninjured.

The suspects were described as two black, males wearing dark clothing and white athletic shoes, Myrick said. One of the suspects was wearing a mask, Myrick said, while the other was carrying an assault rifle outfitted with a curved magazine.

If anyone has information regarding the incident they are asked to call the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 785-8230, or Crimestoppers at 1 (888)-CRIME-SC.
