Lexington County deputies charge couple in shooting death of man in Red Bank
Lexington County deputies have charged a West Columbia man and a Lexington woman in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday evening in Red Bank, officials said.
Capt. Adam Myrick, a sheriff’s department spokesman, said 29-year-old Marion Wade Frye has been charged with murder in the shooting death of Joshua Miles Prine. Frye has also been charged with possessing a weapon during a violent crime.
Myrick also said Katelyn Turner, 26, has been charged with being an accessory to murder after she allegedly helped Frye escape from the victim’s home following the shooting.
Although an exact motive for the shooting was not released, Myrick said it stemmed from an argument between Pine and Frye.
Myrick said both Frye and Turner were taken into custody by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Friday afternoon just outside of Lexington County on Fernandina Road.
Frye and Turner are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center while they await a bond hearing, Myrick said.
