Richland County Sheriff’s Department responds to shooting of woman

A woman was shot on Monday night, according to a report from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

A woman was shot in the lower body at 2431 Pelican Drive — near Forest Heights Elementary School — and taken to Palmetto Health Richland, said Curtis Wilson, the department's public information officer.

Wilson said the woman’s condition is unknown and that the incident is under investigation.
