West Columbia murder suspect located in Anderson County

West Columbia police have taken a man into custody who they say is connected to the shooting death of another man on Monday.

Police Chief Dennis Tyndall said investigators charged 23-year-old Jeremy Junior Head with murder Wednesday after he was located by U.S. Marshals in Anderson County.

Tyndall said Head allegedly shot and killed Antiono Gano Monday at a residence near 2100 Steele Drive near Glenn Street in West Columbia. Officers responded to the residence in reference to a death. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Gano dead at the scene after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.

Tyndall said Head is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
