$30K in stolen weapons and other goods recovered in Orangeburg raid
Orangeburg County authorities believe they stopped some “sophisticated individuals prepared to go to extreme measures,” when they raided a home Sunday in southern Orangeburg County.
“Several ski masks, communication radios, plastic handcuffs, and an armored vest were found inside the Orangeburg County residence,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said in a news release.
Deputies confiscated nearly $30,000 worth of stolen items, including more than 20 weapons, trailers, a golf cart, jewelry, and gold and collectible coins, Ravenell said.
Daniel Ethridge, 34, of 589 Binnicker’s Bridge Road, Orangeburg, was charged with receiving goods worth over $10,000 and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. His bond was set at $7,500.
Ravenell said items found in the residence may help solve burglaries committed in Bamberg and Barnwell counties. More arrests are expected.
