Sumter man turns himself in to police for sexual assault charges
Sumter County Sheriff’s Office officials said a Sumter man listed on their “Most Wanted” list for sexual assault charges turned himself in Saturday night.
Braden Bunch, a department spokesman, said 39-year-old Danny Renae Samuels reported to officials at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center to turn himself in.
Bunch said Samuels faces various sexual assault charges, including two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and a single count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Samuels remains in custody as of Monday morning, Bunch said. A previous hearing held for Samuels set his bond at $70,000.
