Springdale police search for person responsible for hit-and-run

Springdale Police Department officials are requesting the public’s assistance in located the person responsible for injuring a Springdale public works employee in a hit and run Tuesday morning.

Police Chief Kevin Cornett said the incident happened at 7:45 a.m. when a vehicle traveling west on Platt Springs Road struck a public works employee with a side-view mirror as he was stepping off of the back of a garbage truck. The vehicle then fled the scene.

Cornett said the vehicle is gray in color and now has a damaged passenger side-view mirror. The victim was transported to a local hospital, treated and released.
