Masked gunmen sought in holdup of Red Roof Inn in Lexington County

Lexington County authorities released surveillance video and photos of 2 masked gunmen who robbed the Red Rood Inn on Berryhill Road around 1:30 a.m. October 14.

Armed with silver semi-automatic handguns, the two men wearing hats, gloves, and bandannas over their faces to obscure their identity, robbed the two overnight desk clerks. A white work van was seen leaving the area of the Red Roof Inn right after the robbery, Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said.

The clothing and masks worn by the robbers lead investigators to believe they may be two of the men who robbed the Quality Inn on Piney Grove Road at gunpoint on October 6, Koon said.

In that robbery, three men armed with a sawed-off shotgun and silver handgun robbed a desk clerk standing outside the motel of $540.
