Sumter man charged after allegedly biting victim’s face and arms
Sumter County deputies have charged a man with second-degree assault and battery after he allegdly bit a woman about her face, arms and shoulders.
Braden Bunch, a department spokesman, said 29-year-old Appolonia Rush, of Sumter, was taken into custody Thursday following the allegations.
Bunch said a victim told investigators that Rush bit her several times on her face, both arms and shoulders leaving visible bite marks. The victimw as treated for her injuries at the scene by emergency medical services and released.
Rush has since been transported to the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center on a $10,000 bond, Bunch said.
