Two found dead after Marlboro County house fire

Officials say two people were found dead after a Marlboro County house fire.

Coroner Tim Brown tells WPDE-TV that firefighters discovered the bodies of a man and a woman inside a home that burned on Friday night.

Brown says the couple lived at the home and that they appear to have died from smoke inhalation.

Brown says he will wait on autopsy results before releasing the couple’s names.

Authorities have not released the cause of the fire, which is still under investigation.
