Lexington Sheriff’s looking for Pitt Stop robbery suspects

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the community’s help in locating two suspects wanted for armed robbery.

Two men entered the Pitt Stop at 125 Rolling Meadows Lane in the Dixiana area about 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 28, with their faces covered and holding guns, Captain Adam Myrick said in a statement released Monday. The suspects demanded money from an employee, who they assaulted before leaving on foot, Myrick said.

According to Myrick, Lexington County deputies used police dogs to track the suspects to a wooded area near the 4000 block of Charleston Highway, where the trail went cold.

The first suspect is described as a black male between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8 and approximately 160 pounds, Myrick said. He was wearing black coveralls, dark shoes and a black long sleeve shirt wrapped around his face, and was armed with a handgun, Myrick said.

The second suspect is described as a black male, about 6-feet tall and 160 pounds, Myrick said, adding that he was also wearing black coveralls with white shoes and a black mask or shirt to cover his face, and was armed with a black and brown AK-47 with a banana clip.

Exterior security cameras at the Pitt Stop captured images of a dark Ford Mustang in the parking lot before the suspects went inside.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
