A man placed on the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office’s “Most Wanted” list was taken into custody Wednesday in Columbia, officials say.

Braden Bunch, a sheriff’s office spokesman, said deputies were able to locate 41-year-old Larry Dinkins, of Wedgefield, after receiving a tip that Dinkins was staying in a mobile home park near Broad River Road.

Bunch said Sumter County deputies, along with officers from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, went to Dinkins’ suspected location and took him into custody without incident.

Dinkins was wanted on a total of six warrants, Bunch said, including two counts of distribution of crack cocaine, as well as bench warrants from magistrate, family and circuit courts. Dinkins was also sought by the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services.

Bunch said Dinkins was taken to the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center where he will be held pending a bond hearing.
