Richland County Sheriff seeking armed robbery suspect

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the community’s help in locating a suspect wanted for armed robbery, kidnapping and use of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Joshua Wilson, 17, is alleged to have called for a ride at 304 Fowler St. at 12:45 p.m. on Oct. 2, said Sheriff Leon Lott, adding that when the ride arrived Wilson opened the passenger door, pulled a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the driver. Lott said Wilson stole cash and a cellphone, before returning to the Fowler St. residence.

The driver left the scene and called the police but Wilson had fled when they arrived, Lott said.

Wilson is described as a black male around 5-foot-11 with black and tan dreadlocks, said Lott, adding that Wilson was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white Nike sneakers.
